ITINERARY :

Day 01 : Arrival Leh

Arrival at Leh airport and transfer to the Hotel. After refresh leisure to acclimatize yourself because of high altitude of Leh as it is 3500 Mtrs above the sea level. In the evening you will be visiting Leh Bazaar. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02 : Leh

After breakfast full day visit to Samker Gompa & Leh Bazaar, Leh Monastry, Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Samker Gompa is little up in the valley, 3 Kms from Leh Town, which is open to visitors in the morning and evening only. The Gompa belongs to Yellow Sect & was founded in 18th Century. The Gompa is the seat of the Head Lama of Ladakh & founder of yellow sect, Tson-Kha-Pa. After Sanker, visit Leh Temple & Walk back or Drive to Leh Bazaar. Overnight in Hotel in Leh.

DAY 03 : Leh - Uley/Alchi

After Braekfast drive to Alchi, en-route visit Basgo fort, Spituk Monastry. Basgo Fort one of the top 100 endangered World Heritage sites and comprising of a 500 year old citadel and a 400 year old mud brick Gompa. Spituk monastery standing on a conical hill with three chapels was founded in the 11th century but the buildings in a series of tiers with courtyards and steps date from the 15th century. The Yellow-Hat Gelukpa monks created the precedent in Ladakh of building on mountain-tops rather than valley floors. You can have a good view of the countryside around. Overnight stay at Camp/Tent in Alchi/Uley.

Day 04- Uley/Alchi: - Leh

Early morning, proceed to visit Rizong Monastery. It has a monastery and a nunnery, which accommodates lady monks or Nuns locally called as "Chomos". After visiting Rizong Monestry drive towards Leh en-route visiting Likir Monastery. Likir was built during the reign of Lachen Gyalpo who installed 600 monks here, headed by Lhawang Chosje. The Gompas was invested with a collection of fine images, Tangkhas and murals to vie with those at Alchi. The present buildings date mainly from the 18th century since the original were destroyed by fire. Likir was converted to the Gelupa sect in the 15th century. The head lama, the younger brother of the Dalai Lama, has his apartments here, which were extended in the mid 1990s. Before arriving into Leh, visit to Phyang Monastery, this is 17 Kms from Leh, built by Tashi Namgyal in 16th century A.D. and belongs to the Red Cap Sect of Buddhists. check-in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 05 : Leh - Nubra Valley

After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) post lunch, enjoy the camel safari at Sand Dunes between Deskit & Hundur Village. O/N Nubra Valley.

Day 06: Nubra Valley - Leh

After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery (Big Buddha), where you can have a magnificent view of Nubra Valley and drive back to Leh by same Route, crossing Khardungla Pass. O/N Leh.

Day 07 : Leh – Chumathang – Tsomoriri (240 Km, 7 Hours)

After breakfast drive to Tsomoriri. Stop at Upshi for passport checking. En-route visit Chumathang which is famous for medical hot spring. Also visit Sumdah village on the way and continue drive to Tsomoriri lake which is breeding grounds for numerous species of birds. The Lake is 8 Kms. Wide and 28 Kms long. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 08 : Tsomoriri – Leh (240 Km, 7 Hours)

In the morning visit Korzok village with its houses and its gompa appearing like a “Mirage”. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world. Later return to Leh for overnight stay.

Day 09 : departure

Early morning transfer to Leh airport to catch flight for onward destination.
